New Pastor Appointed!

Rev. Bob Cooper

We are excited to welcome Rev. Bob Cooper as the new pastor of our church beginning July 1!

Originally from Tangier Island, Pastor Bob has served in pastoral ministry for more than 30 years. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Asbury College and both his Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry degrees from Wesley Theological Seminary.

Before joining the Global Methodist Church, Bob served for 31 years in The United Methodist Church in a variety of leadership roles at both the district and conference levels. He has also served as a delegate to multiple Methodist conferences, including the World Methodist Conference and the Southeastern Jurisdictional Conference.

Pastor Bob currently serves as Chair of the Virginia Conference Board of Ministry, is a member of the Episcopal Committee, and is a delegate to the 2026 General Conference of the Global Methodist Church.

Bob is married to Rev. Frances Cooper, and together they have two daughters and four grandchildren.

We are grateful for God’s leading in this new season and look forward to welcoming Pastor Bob into the life of our church.
